Day 9. This morning marked a poignant moment as Pete and Chris departed, and I also bid farewell to my walking buddy of the past eight days, Bob. The first week of this journey has been a true test in numerous ways, the longest mileage days, gruelling climbs, and some of the most emotionally charged stretches for me. Reflecting on the past week, I cannot fathom how much more arduous this journey would have been without Bob's unwavering support and companionship. His presence has been a source of strength, and I will genuinely miss him as we part ways.

This morning the Lewises are with me, Paul, Theresa, and their daughter Rachael. Before we set off on our trek, Rachael had taken the initiative to capture some moments on film - footage for my social media and/or to send to any media interest we may receive over the next 3 weeks. We embarked on a morning hike that covered 10 miles, making our way to Constantine Bay - where I needed some ice for a sore calf. This is where I left the Lewises and continued on my journey solo, pushing forward another 11 miles towards Watergate Bay.

Unfortunately here I struggled to find my hotel, and with no phone service or Internet I started to feel rather anxious. Fortunately, just when I was starting to lose hope and feel somewhat stranded, Theresa came to the rescue. She managed to call me when I received a small amount of phone service again, pinpoint my location and pick me up. She then drove me BACK - as I had roved a MILE off course - and up a steep hill to my lodgings. Demonstrating the kindness and support that has been a hallmark of this adventure. I know Anna would be thankful Theresa was there that day to look out for me.

It was now gone 7.00pm and I was flagging. Jean at my hotel was fantastic. Got me ice for my sore calf, called a local pub to secure a dinner reservation for me, drove me down and later returned to pick me up again, ensuring that I was well taken care of. This truly is the walk that keeps on giving, I am surrounded by love - not just from friends and family but my fellow walkers and the kind-hearted locals.
